Dragons are Clive’s signature pieces, which helps to explain why he was given the title years ago of ‘Master of the Dragons’ by one of the papers. This gallery contains a small sample of the different species of dragon that dwell in his mind. You’ll also see dragons adorning other pieces by Clive: jugs, urns, or in fact pretty much anything.
Imaginary Beasts and Real Beasts are pretty much self-explanatory. Although I’m not sure the rhino should be in here... it has a slightly pre-historic flavour. But there’s not much doubt about the Dragon Bike.
Everything Else - This was a difficult gallery to title, as you can see. In this gallery is everything which defies easy categorisation anywhere else. A life-size ceramic bearskin with a chalk silhouette as round a corpse, entitled Murder Victim; sumo wrestlers; strange torsos; interesting things from Clive’s house; some more of Lindsay West’s amazing work; and many other creations, creatures and curiosities you could encounter if you pay Clive a visit during an Open House weekend.
